Entry #6 Time Management

Running out of time? Image Source by geralt via Pixabay Whether you struggle with maintaining good time management or struggle with procrastination, it is incredibly easy to feel like you do not have enough time to complete tasks that you either want or need to complete, whether you are a student or not. There are several ways to improve your time management, but today I thought I could focus on two options that have helped improve my time management skills as someone who struggles with procrastination.  Calendars  Image Source by marijana1 via Pixabay There are two different types of ways one can keep a calendar to help improve time management skills. The first way one could keep a calendar is by making a weekly calendar. By using this type of calendar, you list all events or commitments that occur on the same day and at the same time, such as a class or work schedule, a fitness schedule, or a time to study. Another way to keep a calendar is by making a monthly calendar. ...

Entry #5 Mayhem

Mayhem  Today, we will be looking at analyzing an Allstate commercial where mayhem is wreaking havoc on others. In this post, I will be focusing on the purpose of the advertisement and the design elements of the advertisement. I think it is an immensely useful tool to analyze the media you are consuming, whether that is media you are consciously choosing to indulge in or unconsciously consuming, like advertisements.  Purpose  The purpose of the Mayhem Promposal advertisement beyond its need to sell its product is to promote being prepared for the unexpected by showcasing examples of where things can happen out of your control. This is shown in the Promposal advertisement when Mayhem has seemingly affected the wind, which then causes the house to be set on fire. It shows that the unexpected can happen at any time, and it is better to have some sort of protection that can help you after an unfortunate event.  Design  The main thing you see when the advertisement ...

Entry #4 Mass Effect Trilogy

Welcome Aboard the Normandy! Image Source by  ChristianaT  via Pixabay Just this past weekend, I finished a playthrough of the Mass Effect trilogy , and I would like to review my experience playing and what I thought about the nearly decade-old game. If you are unfamiliar with the Mass Effect games, it is a video game based in the distant future in the Milky Way galaxy where you play as a human, Commander Shepard, in the earth’s military forces. Due to a series of events, you must work with other alien races to save the galaxy from the trilogy’s villains, whose goal is to eradicate the human and alien races. The Mass Effect trilogy, which was first released in 2007 and then remastered in 2021, is a third-person shooter game that has roleplaying elements where your relationships with the other characters are important and entangled with the main storyline. I would like to go over aspects of the games that I liked and disliked; maybe at the end of this blog, you may decid...

Entry #3 Winter Morning Breeze

Picture this!  For today’s blog, I would like to explore eating something unknown to you. In a yoga class I have previously taken, we did a meditation similar to what I would like to explore with you. During that meditation, the yoga teacher gave the students chocolates. We were told to close our eyes and feel the packaging of the chocolate, and when we were finally able to eat it, we had to let the chocolate melt in our mouths with our eyes still closed to enhance the experience of eating chocolate. So, for this blog entry, I will do my best to describe the feel and taste of something that is currently unknown to you, the audience. Please feel free to guess what I am describing throughout the blog post.   Packaging  To begin with this experience, you must first explore the packaging of the item. The item could be packaged in numerous ways; it could be in a smooth, cool-to-the-touch metal tin, or it could be individually wrapped in smooth plastic.   The pla...
